Policies — The Captain Wohlt Inn

Welcome to the Captain Wohlt Inn, Hermann’s historic boutique hotel.

We look forward to providing you with a relaxing and memorable stay.


To ensure comfort, safety, and a smooth experience for all guests, please review the following policies prior to arrival.

Reservations & Payments


Guarantee & Payment

All reservations must be guaranteed with a valid credit card. Full payment is due at the time of booking. We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.


Rates

Rates are based on double occupancy and may vary by season, day of the week, or special events.


Taxes

All rates are subject to applicable Missouri state and local taxes.


Cancellations & Refunds

As a small, independent inn, cancellations have a meaningful impact on our operations. We appreciate your understanding.


Standard Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to arrival will receive a full refund, minus a 10% processing fee or $30 cancellation fee (whichever is greater).


Late Cancellations

Cancellations made within 30 days of arrival will receive a gift certificate valid for a future Sunday–Wednesday night stay.


No-Shows & Early Departures

Guests who fail to arrive as scheduled or depart early will be charged the full reservation amount.


Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-In: 3:00 PM

  • Check-Out: 11:00 AM

Early Check-In / Late Check-Out

Early check-in or late check-out may be available for a $35 fee and must be arranged in advance. Early access begins at 1:00 PM.

A valid photo ID and the credit card used for booking are required at check-in.


Occupancy & Guest Conduct

Room occupancy is limited to the number of guests listed on your reservation confirmation.

Only registered guests are permitted on the property after 10:00 PM.


Quiet Hours

10:00 PM – 8:00 AM
Please be respectful of other guests and our neighbors during these hours.

The Captain Wohlt Inn reserves the right to refuse service or evict guests without refund for disruptive behavior, property damage, smoking violations, or failure to adhere to inn policies.


Children & Additional Guests

Children are welcome in select rooms and houses. Due to the historic nature and layout of our buildings, not all accommodations are suitable for young children. Please contact us prior to booking to ensure the best fit for your family.

Additional guests beyond standard occupancy are subject to a $75 per person, per night charge, which includes amenities.

Please note that rollaway beds and cribs are not available.


Breakfast

Breakfast is included with all Deluxe Level Rooms and Suites and is delivered directly to your room each morning.


Guests staying in Standard Rooms may add breakfast, when available, for $21 per person. Please notify us of any dietary restrictions or allergies prior to arrival so we can make appropriate accommodations.


Pet Policy

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in select pet-friendly rooms only.

  • A $35 per reservation, per dog fee applies

  • Dogs must remain on a leash while on the property

  • Pets may not be left unattended in rooms at any time

  • Dogs are not permitted on furniture or bedding

  • Guests are responsible for any damage or additional cleaning required due to pets

Please contact us in advance to confirm availability of a pet-friendly room.


Smoking & Vaping

The Captain Wohlt Inn is a non-smoking property.

Smoking and vaping are permitted outdoors only, away from buildings and other guests.

$250 cleaning fee will be charged for any evidence of smoking or vaping inside any building.


Damages & Missing Items

Guests are responsible for any damage to property, furnishings, or missing items that occur during their stay. Repair or replacement costs will be charged to the credit card on file.


Parking

Complimentary on-site parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional street parking is located nearby.

The inn is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to vehicles or personal belongings.


Accessibility

As a historic property, some areas of the Captain Wohlt Inn may have limited accessibility. Please contact us prior to booking if you have specific accessibility needs, and we will do our best to accommodate you.


Group Reservations & Events

We’re delighted to host group stays, weddings, and private events. Please contact us directly to discuss group rates, policies, and availability.


Discounted rates may be available for groups staying Monday through Wednesday nights. Special terms, deposits, and cancellation policies may apply to group or full-property reservations.


Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Guest information is used solely to manage reservations and enhance your experience at the Captain Wohlt Inn. We do not sell or share personal or payment information with third parties.

    Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and check-out is 11:00 AM. Early check-in or late check-out may be available by advance arrangement.
